I am reading a book on my iPad. It's called The Sisters Brothers by Patrick de Witt. It's really a western about two gunfighters who are brothers; their last name is Sisters. At times it is quite funny but at other times it is very violent and disturbing so it really is for adults. I am reading it for my book club discussion. Rita van Haren

I have just finished reading the book 'Ink Heart' by Cornelia Funke. The story is set in Europe and involves a young girl named Meggie and her father Mo, who is a book binder (a doctor for sick books). Meggie's mother disappeared when Meggie was three and Mo refuses to tell Meggie anything about it. Meggie and Mo travel often so that he can mend sick books and everywhere they go, Meggie always takes a large box full of her favourite books for company. The story becomes really interesting when a strange man who plays with fire appears at their door late one night. Mo seems to know him and this stranger whispers something to Mo that makes him quickly pack his things and hustle Meggie out into the night with him. Someone is after Mo, and that someone knows what happened to Meggie's mother so long ago.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure, danger and magic.
Four and a half stars.
